WARRI – The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun is to commence e-learning along side the physical modules beginning from this academic session.

Principal of the Institute, Dr. Henry Adimula, made this known at the PTI Conference Hall, Effurun, Delta State, during the matriculation ceremony for full-time and School of Industrial Continuing Education Programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session .

Dr. Adimula while congratulating students for being found suitable for admission into the institute, having emerged successful in the various test and interview, implored them to brace up to the realities of learning in the post COVID-19 era.

“Our ICT laboratories are and workshops are second to non in Nigeria. Our library is a repository of current textbooks, journals and manuals and they are at the disposal of students.

“We also have an e-library facility domiciled in the Institute’s Library. Our ICT centre offers a wide range of services that can cater for your needs ,and I advise that students maximize the usage of our facilities.

“From this academic session, the Institute would integrate e-learning platforms with physical modules, and implore students to brace up to the realities of learning in the post COVID-19 pandemic”, the Principal stated.

Dr. Adimula, who reiterated the vision of the institute to become the leading oil and gas technological Institute in Africa, also hinted that, the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) which is essentially to develop, classify and recognize skills, knowledge and competence that is acquired by individuals irrespective of how skills and training were acquired, has also been introduced into PTI educational system.

He however, warned the matriculants that the Institute has zero tolerance for exam malpractice, cultism, improper dressing among other vices as anyone found wanting would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

A visibly elated matriculant, Agnes Ukarajit , a student of Mineral/ Petroleum Resources Engineering, said,
” I feel happy about today,and for the oath taking, I pray the Almighty God will guide me throughout my stay in PTI in the name of Jesus Christ.

I chose PTI because it is the best among Petroleum Training Institute, I have heard about, so, I thank God for being a student here”.

Also , Akinkugbe Obadiah, a Mechanical Engineering OND student who was also delighted said he chose PTI because of their track record of academic excellence.

A total of 1,480 candidates applied for admission into the National Diploma Programmes, but only 720 candidates were offered admission while out of the 714 candid who applied for admission, only 547 candidates were got admitted.
