Asaba – The Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance,( APGA) Delta state has poured cold water on insinuation that APGA is an Ibo party, advising Nigeria electorates to dismiss such notions from any quarter.
Afam Ememokwu, speaking with journalists at the party sectariat in Asaba, averred that APGA is the third largest political party in the country with visible presence in many states of the nation.
He stated that the party boast presently of a distinguished senator by name Eyinnaya Abaribe who defected to the Party and won the senatorial primaries and that in Kaduna state the party equally won house of representatives seats.
He maintained that the party in Delta state has a versatile gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 election in chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, who he described is a grassroot politician.
Afam Ememokwu explained that the mass followership of chief Great Ogboru is a great asset to the party and the state owing to the prowess he has made in the political arena of Delta state.
The state APGA chairman highlighted that if chief Great Ovedje Ogboru wins in 2023 election, all the years of suffering Deltans have endured in the hands of PDP will be over, as he Ogboru has the magic wand to turn around the fortunes of Deltans for good.
He maintained that APGA has its motto as ” be your brothers keeper” saying that the party and its candidates in Delta state for 2023 elections are committed to that.
The state APGA chairman opined that the emergence of a former central bank governor of Nigeria as chief executive of Anambra state, professor Charles Soludo under the platform of APGA is one of the main reasons electorates should indentify with the party.
The state APGA chairman expressed optimism that if BIVAS which is a product of National Assembly is put into use in 2023 election rigging and other electoral malpractices would be minimised.
