BENIN CITY – The Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom have appointed Mr. Omoruyi. A. Omonuwa SAN and Mr. Osaigbovo Iguobaro, as his Legal Adviser and Personal Lawyer and Chief Press Secretary to the Palace.

The appointment of the duo which took effect immediately was contained in a Public Announcement dated August 8,2022, signed and issued yesterday in Benin by Mr. Frank Irabor, Secretary, Benin Traditional Council (BTC).

Until his recent appointment, Mr. Iguobaro was the Edo Correspondent of Peoples Daily Newspaper and Secretary of Correspondent Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council.

The graduate of International Studies and Diploma holder in Journalism from the prestigious University of Benin and International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), Abuja, has over 15 years of working experience as a journalist just as he is married with wife and children.

Similarly, the Oba of Benin, HRM Oba Ewuare II, has appointed with immediate effect His Royal Highness, Edomwonyi Iduozee Ogiegbaen, the Ogiegbaen of Egbaen Siluko as Chief Coordinator to the Palace on Enigie matters in Benin Kingdom.

This is just as the Oba has also ratified the suspension of Chief James Okponmwense Ezomo, the Ezomo of Benin.

The duo announcements dated August 8, 2022, were released by Mr. Frank Irabor, Secretary to Benin Traditional Council (BTC).

The statement added that Chief James Okponnwense Ezomo, is by the announcement forbidden from exercising any authority over Uzebu Community, following his alleged anti-palace activities.

Recall that Chief Ezomo, was on January 24, 2022 suspended by the Uzama N’Ihinron group, headed by Chief Oliha of Benin over the said offences.
