Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Chris Nehikhare has assured all Edo People that the State Government has set up machinery to bring land grabbers in the State to book.

Giving this assurance while addressing Pressmen in his Office in Benin city, the Commissioner explained that most Individuals involved in land grabbing were discovered to be involved in other crimes like unlawful possession of ammunition’s, cultism, armed robbery and rape, adding that the State Government has firmly resolved to end such vices in the State in order to make it a safe place for the people.

The Commissioner further debunked the claims made by the opposition party that the Nigerian  Observer Newspaper  has been closed down, explaining that the Observer Newspaper is a brand that has been established by the State for over fifty five years.

He noted that a new management will be onboarded on Monday, the 24th of October to ensure that the paper reclaims it’s position of being the best selling paper not just in the south south region but nationwide.

Hon. Nehikhare also reaffirmed Government’s commitment in securing it’s investment on infrastructural development by stating that the ban on heavy Duty vehicles of thirty tons and above still remain in place, as the protection of its roads and all other infrastructure put in place for the benefit of the people remains paramount.
