A man identified as Ovie Ojadovwa has reportedly abandoned his family and fled from his community in Delta State following repeated violent assault and threats his after rejection plea from members of the Ogboni Fraternity, an occult group which his led until his sudden death in 20??.
The occult group, in a statement, had earlier written to inform Ovie Ojadovwa as the first son of the deceased leader of laid down procedures of taking up the role and position of his late father as enshrined in its constitution.
Trouble was said to have however started for Ovie Ojadovwa who reportedly rejected outrightly his late father’s official position as the leader of Ogboni Fraternity which is completely at variance with his Christian faith .
His obstinate decision not to occupy his late father’s position in the occult group was said to have set him on collision course with other members of the Ogboni Fraternity and youths in the community as sinister plots to eliminate him were masterminded.
Youths of his community led by members of the occult group were on several occasions reported to have violently attacked Ovie in his house were he was ruthlessly beaten up into coma.
However on this fateful day, youths in their numbers were reportedly seen marching down to the house of Ovie Ojadovwa in protest and chanting war-like songs with others carrying placards bearing different inscriptions as “Ovie Ojadovwa must die today” and another saying ” Ovie must either choose between life and death by taking his father’s position .”
It was gathered that the protesting youths, upon their arrival at the house of Ovie Ojadovwa, reportedly searched everywhere for him but were unsuccessful in their efforts as they instantly resorted to destroying everything they came across.
Meanwhile, his outright refusal to take his deceased father’s position was said to have reportedly halted activities in occult group, pressure from aggrieved members continued to mount on Ovie Ojadovwa as he reportedly abandoned his family and fled from the community to an undisclosed location in the face obvious threats to his life.
