BENiN CITY — For his refusal to join his late father’s demonic occultic group, the Ogboni Secret Society, a young man, Josiah Frank, of Nomayo Steet, Upper Sokponba Road, Benin City has fled for his life, following threats and harassment to his life by members of the secret society.
Information made available to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER reveals that, Frank’s father, Mr Josiah an influential, powerful and devouted member of the Ogboni secret cult died in October 2013. During the burial rites members of the secret society told Frank that he will be initiated into their fold before his late father’s final burial. He refused the membership of the occultic group because of his religious inclination as a Christian.
It was gathered that, his refusal irked the members, and they started terrorizing and harassing him
It was further gathered that, though Frank knew of the membership of his father in the cult group, and that he would take the place of his father in the group after his death, Frank from onset refused, as his father, before his death, told him several times that he (Frank) would take over his position after his death as it was the society’s law, that the son will take the father’s place after he died.
It was also gathered that in December 2013, the secret society members, armed with dangerous weapons attacked Frank at his residence,, he was severely beaten, he narrowedly escaped with injuries.
When all the threats and harassment did not yield result, they launched another attack in early January 2014, this time he was ambushed on a lonely road along upper Mission Road, where he was inflicted with matchete injuries.
The occultic members have vowed to eliminate him, if he still refuses to be initiated into their group
It was reliable gathered that the position of his late father must not be vacant because of it relevance in the society group.
As at the time of writing this report, the whereabouts of Josiah Frank is unknown, as he has fled for his life.
