BENIN CITY- Despite the Edo State government’s efforts in tackling the inceasant issue of cultism in the state, the menace has continued unabated.
Even the continuous campaign of religious bodies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other concerned authorities is not helping matters, as children of some well meaning citizens are also involved in the various activities. Recently it was reported that cult clashes between the Neo-Black Movement otherwise known as ‘Black Axe’ and the Aye movement left three people dead at Auchi of which one was a student of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.
The situation became so worrisome that armed policemen and members of the Civil Defence Corp had to be drafted in night and day, as guards to forestall peace in the institution and it’s environs, up to Uzairue.
Meanwhile, the Story has been reported about an attempted failed cult Initiation at Idogbo Grammar School, Idogbo in Ikpoba/Okha Local Government Area of Edo state.
This time, the where about of a young secondary school final year student Marcus Christian in his early twenties has become a mystery, as he has not been seen around since early this term in the school or at home, where he resides. Some of the schoolmates close to him revealed to our reporter that Marcus Christian is on the run for escaping from where the initiation was to take place and was lured into the failed attempted forceful initiation into the dreaded Eiye Confraternity Cult group, by his friend (name withheld).
The source also added that he never knew what it was all about, as he was persuaded by his friend that it is all for protection, until getting to the nearby bush behind the school and was asked to drink human blood and sign an undertaking under oath to be ready to kill at all time. He then refused and escaped at the slightest opportunity that he was pressed.

ince then members of the cult group are after his life circulating his picture to all the branches to get him by all means, having been exposed to their secret at all. However investigation is on-going to unravel the circumstances behind the infiltration of cultism into the school, as it was also revealed that it is not only Eiye confraternity is the only cult group in the school.
