Ugborikoko, Delta State -A middle aged man simply identified as Aleni Ikehuamhen Andrew, has been declared wanted by the police of Effurun Divisional Headquarters and by the elders of Ugborikoko Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State,following his alleged involvement in gay practices with his partner Fred Daniel,an act considered sacrilegious in the land.
The Observer News gathered that he was captured while having anal sex commonly referred to as homosexual in an uncompleted building when the information came to the elders, who requested some youths of the community to catch them and clearly apprehended them in the process.
Talking to crime Journalists, an elder of the community, Elder Paul Okoro said that when they (the elders) got the information of their bad business, they ordered the youths to take action and eventually arrested them, adding that they had decided to hand them over to the police, saying that before the arrival of the police, the main actor, Aleni Ikehuamhen Andrew, escaped and abandoned his companion Fred Daniel to his fate while he (Fred) was handed over to the police who arrested and accused him of same sex crime that led to the court judgement against him (Fred) who is currently serving a prison sentence of 14 years, which the criminal justice system of Nigeria prescribes for every offender of any status.
He also said that apart from the terms of the prison, he would also have been made to perform some traditional rituals to appease the gods, because such an act cause a frightening epidemic which usually results in premature deaths among the youth, while he ( Aleni Ikehuamhen Andrew) has been declared wanted to allow him to face the wrath of his misdeeds as it is a taboo for a man to have anal sex with his fellow man in the community.
But reacting, Aleni Ikehuamhen Andrew mother Mrs. Theresa Imafidon, complained about the allegation of her son having an affair with his male partner. She defended her son saying that her son was never involved in such practice before now, that the responsibility of his maintenance had been taken immediately after his father Late Ikehuamhen Andrew Imafidon (her husband) died.
It was reported that Aleni and Fred were caught red-handed before escaping. She said she received many threatening messages from the elders and the people of the community, asking her (mother) to produce her son (Aleni) within a limited period of time or she would be killed to appease the gods for an act committed by her son.
At the time of this report,no one knows where he is, but she denies having seen him since he suddenly escaped.
