ILORIN – The Chairman Exhibition and Fairs Limited, Mr Bolaji Atunse, has said that the 6th Kwara National Agric. Show will focus on enhancing the nation’s food security through commercial agricultural production.
Atunse made this known in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin yesterday.
He said that the programme was designed to improve on the achievements of the previous agriculture shows in the state.
According to him, over 500 companies and organisations from the public and private sectors are to exhibit and showcase their agricultural products, chemicals and equipment to the populace.
“The idea behind the 6th Kwara National Agric. Show 2014 is the desire to work in line within the Federal Government Agriculture Policies to boost food production and encourage farming in all states.
“To create opportunities for small-scale agro-allied industries in our rural areas; to educate the farmers on how best they can add value to their farm produce for local and international market.
“This Workshop /Seminar during the exhibition will throw more light to the farmers and participants on how best to be financially prudent and improve their farm produce,’’ he said.
He said that the programme would showcase the latest and the most effective agricultural technology in vogue.
