BENIN CITY- Edo State House of Assembly has concluded the clause-by-clause constitution of the bill for a law to further alter the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.
The constitution which followed the suspension of House Rules 42-46 at the committee of the whole provided the opportunity for the Lawmakers to either vote for in support of or against any section of the constitution harmony that needed to be amended in harmony with the yearnings of their constitutions.
While virtually every sections of the 4th alteration Bill received the full support of the Lawmakers, 8 sections including 7, 124, 162, 197, 201, 202, 205 and 305 were voted against by the lawmakers including third schedule part 2 and the fifth schedule.
The Speaker, Hon. Uyi Igbe in his submission directed the clerk of the House to forward clean copies of the 4th alteration Bill to the National Assembly for immediate action.
