BENIN CITY – “The success and progress currently witnessed in the Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s led-administration in Edo State has been attributed to the robust internally generated revenue accruing to the state through the Chief Oseni Elamah-led Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS)”, Edo Youth Political Vanguard has said.
The Edo Youth political Vanguard (EYPV) made the remark while conferring the ‘Achievement Award’ on the Executive Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service, Chief (Sir) Oseni Elamah in Benin City.
The EYPV President, Comrade Michael Omomila said the award presentation was part of activities lined up to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the organisation.
He stated that the body which is a non-partisan organisation was established to promote, support, advocate and consolidate good governance as demonstrated by the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole .
Comrade Omomila stated that the present transformational success across the state cannot be completed without recourse to the contributions of the state IRS which has contributed significantly to the state and the youth in particular.
He praised the leadership quality of the EIRS boss and the management staff for their commitment to duty, adding that his (Elamah’s) choice for the award was borne out of his (Elamah) forthrightness, innovative knowledge and determination towards changing the fortune of the revenue sector.
Receiving the award, the EIRS boss said he was pleased with the aims and objectives of the organisation.
He dedicated the award to the management and staff of the revenue agency, saying that without their support and team work, the agency would not have recorded such a progressive success.
Chief Elamah asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set a pace in the history of political dispensation in the state by creating a level playing ground for all political aspirants in the state.
He said that in line with the state government’s policy, the revenue agency has strived towards creating the much needed tax-friendly society where the people, especially youths were gainfully employed through the provision of infrastructures in the state.
