BENIN CITY –  Edo State Ministry of Lands and survey is delivering on assigned functions as evidenced in the huge strides recorded during the period June 2013 till date, during  which Barr. Osikhena-Boih Donald has held office as Honourable Commissioner.
This remark was made in the Office of the Hon. Commissioner when management staff of the Ministry met to review the progress recorded during the period at a ceremony to mark the 41st Birthday of Barr. Osikhena-Boih Donald.
The Hon.   Commissioner for Lands and Survey specifically identified the achievements of the Ministry in the period under review among others to include the purchase of modern equipment, like Total Stations, Scanner & Plotter, Digital Theodolites, Safety Kites etc. to make survey easy, speedy processing and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy within thirty (30) days, similarly, the facilitation of the release of the Former Army Barrack, lkpoba Hill, Benin City to Edo State Government by Military authorities, elimination of Double allocation of land and duplication of Certificate of Occupancy on property.
He also identified other achievements to include the reclamation of all encroached Government Lands and acquisitions, facilitation of compensation to acquire lands in various Communities.
Barr. Osikhena-Boih Donald used the opportunity of his Birthday to commend staff of the Ministry for their dedication to duty.
The Land and Survey Commissioner also added that significant progress was recorded in revenue generation by the Ministry. The sum of N1, 146, 047,130.02 (One billion, one hundred and forty six million, forty seven thousand, one hundred and thirty naira two kobo.) was realized by the Ministry from March, 2013 to November, 2014.
In his responses, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands & Survey, Michael Okojie Esq. on behalf of the management and staff commended the Hon.
Commissioner for his leadership qualities which ensured the uncommon transformation and the giant strides recorded in the Ministry. He equally wished him more fruitful years in the service of mankind especially, to Edo people.
