ABUJA – The Nigeria Football Association (NFA), has invited 24 players ahead of Super Eagles international friendly with Cote d’Ivoire and Mali in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in January, 2015.
A statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Ademola Olajire, the Assistant Director of Communications of NFA, said the list of 24 players was compiled by Daniel Amokachi, the Super Eagles Assistant Coach.
It said the match against Cote d’Ivoire will come up on January 9, while the game against the Eagles of Mali will hold on January 13.
The statement quoted Musa Amadu, the NFA Secretary-General, as saying “we are working round the clock to make sure the Super Eagles have opponents for all the FIFA windows in 2015.
“We are happy that the two games with the Ivoirians and the Malians are sealed.
“The Elephants and the Les Aiglons are on their way to the 30th Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, so they are sure to give our team good games.’’
The list, made up of domestic players, has regular invitees, including goalkeepers Chigozie Agbim of Gombe United and Daniel Akpeyi of Warri Wolves as well as defenders Azubuike Egwuekwe, Kwambe Solomon and Umar Zango.
Others are midfielders Ammel Wilfred of Kogi United, Joseph Nathaniel of Sharks FC, Charles Henlong who plays for Giwa FC, Stanley Dimgba of Warri Wolves and Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars.
The list also includes Chinedu Udeaga of Enugu Rangers, Emem Eduok of Dolphins FC and Kingsley Sokari who plies his trade with Enyimba FC.
