A referees consultant with the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Linus Mba, said on Friday the association would conduct pre-season technical courses for referees ahead the 2014/2015 football season.
Mba told newsmen in Abuja that the course was important as it would ensure that referees became fit and made technical inputs into matches.
“Having concluded the physical examination this time, the next thing, which is more important, is the technical inputs into the game.
“We want to ensure that the referee that we have assured ourselves is healthy, is in good physical condition, is be able to deliver technically.
“So, there are already plans early in the New Year before the season starts to run technical courses all over the country for these referees.
“And we will be able to classify them into the various divisions of the league in accordance with their level of experience.“
Mba said the course would focus on the laws of the game and its applications in match situations.
