FUGAR – reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace and security in all nook and crannies of the country, an enlarged sensitization programme has been convened by the National Orientation (NOA) Edo State Directorate.
The one-day programme which held in Fugar the administrative headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government Area, is one of the numerous sensitization programme organize by NOA, to foster peace and re-awaken security consciousness among people in the rural communities.
In her address the State Director of NOA, Mrs. Magdalene Umunnah thanked participants for their quest to embrace peace, while in the community which she noted is still the most interesting way of living.
While emphasizing President Goodluck Jonathan’s resolve to bring lasting peace through the transformation Agenda, the NOA Boss harped on the need for continuous education and orientation of citizens in the wake of political violence and insurgency across the country.
The Divisional Police Officer of the locality DSP Anapo James and his counterpart from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. Mr. Frederick Odior corroborated the NOA State Director’s call for peace and security in the area, urging the people not to shield suspected criminal.
Participants were drawn from the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence, Corpse, and State Security. Service, Vigilante groups, traditional rulers, political parties and their candidates, market women, youths and the general public.
