BENIN CITY – The OBSERVER Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will tomorrow, Thursday, December 18th and Friday, 19th hold its annual forum which it has re-christened Samuel Ogbemudia Forum, in honour of the Founding Father of the Newspaper House, and two time Governor of the old Midwest and Bendel State, Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, the Guest of Honour at the event.
According to a statement by the Chairman and Secretary, Planning Committee of the Annual Forum, Solomon Imohiosen (Esq.) and Umeh Grace (Mrs) respectively, the forum which is in its 13th edition, will kick off at 10am on Thursday while Friday evening will be a get-together for all the media workers and their well-wishers which begins at about 4.00 p.m.
It further stated that the 2014 Forum with the theme: “Advancing Media Freedom, The Promise of Technology” will feature two Guest Lecturers namely, Dr. Tonnie Iredia, former Director General, NTA Abuja who will deliver a paper around the theme,  and Comrade U.S.A. Uzaka, NUJ Vice President, Zone F, whose paper is “The Media and sustenance of Democracy”
Prof. Emmanuel Emovon, former Minister, Science and Technology will chair the forum while Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Edo State Governor will be the Special Guest of Honour.
Others expected as Special Guests are Dr. Taiwo Amusan, (JP), Chief Medical Director, TIME Hospital, Benin (Sponsor of the Forum), Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo, Chairman, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and several others.
All practicing Journalists in Edo State are expected to be in attendance.
