BENIN CITY – The Edo State Police Command has said that the ban on the sale and use of explosives such as firecrackers popularly known as knock-out and other forms of pyrotechnics is still in force.
Consequently, the police command advised parents, guardians, children, traders, workers and others not to indulge in the sale or use of any form of explosive before, during and after the yuletide season.
The outgoing spokesman of the command DSP Noble Uwoh in a statement explained that the advice became necessary to avoid distractions that could create opportunity for hoodlums to perpetrate crimes and thereby cause threat to security in the state.
The statement however warned that any defaulter would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
“Anyone caught in the act would be made to face the full wrath of the law”.
It therefore reiterated the command commitment and readiness to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizenry and residents before, during and after the yuletide.
