Ogbomoso (Oyo State)- A former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, has urged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the nation’s leadership.
Alao-Akala made the call in a statement in Ogbomoso by his media aide, Mr Abraham Ojo.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2015 general elections said that the nation was in need of divine intervention against insurgency and other security challenges.
“The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ that we are celebrating symbolises peace as He is a prince of peace who came to reassure us of God’s love for us.
“We have to continue to hold on to this belief and pray ceaselessly as He has commanded us for the peace of this nation.
“ Nigerians must not relent in their prayers for the leadership of this country and divine intervention in the fight against insurgency,’’ he said.
He described prayers as the portent spiritual weapon that could help tackle the many challenges confronting the nation.
