LOKOJA – The wife of Kogi Governor, Hajia Halima Wada, called on wealthy persons in the society to take care of those in need.
Wada made this call at an outreach for 100 widows, orphans and disabled persons at Idah.
According to her, the distribution has been on since January, adding that the objective was to put smile on the faces of the people.
She assured the people that her pet project, “Women Empowerment Network (KOWEN), would bring together ordinary persons and the well to do in society.
Wada said the main objective of KOWEN was to give hope and encouragement to the people.
She urged the people of Idah Local Government area to take advantage of the Fish Smoking Venture established by KOWEN to ensure bumper fish production and sales in and around Kogi.
The Chairman, Idah Local Government Council, Dr Abutalib Abubakar, commended Wada for her consistency in giving the plight of the less privileged  priority in her pet project.
