The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) on Tuesday in Abuja said the 2014/2015 league would only commence after its stakeholders must have met.
Isaac Ajisafe, the Secretary of the NWFL, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the stakeholders would hold a congress to determine the commencement of the league.
“The entire stakeholders have to meet before we can decide on how we can run this year’s league,’’ he said.
The league official also said the decision of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) on the issue was very significant to the activities of NWFL.
“A date has not been fixed for the congress and we are also expecting a response from the NFA,’’ he said.
Ajisafe however requested for more support for the league from well-meaning individuals, adding that this would boost the competition.
“We want people who can sponsor the league, especially the amateur tiers of the league,” he said.
