Abuja- The Unity Kapital Assurances plc has said that the dropping of some of its former management staff was due to non compliance with the corporate governance.
The Chairman, Unity Kapital Assurance plc, Mr Henry Semenitari, made the explanation in a statement signed by its acting Managing Director, Mr Olugbenga Olasogba, in Abuja.
The company, however, appointed Olasogba in acting capacity.
“Mr Kins Ekebuike, the erstwhile Managing Director and Mr John Abu Oyidih, erstwhile Executive Director (Finance and Admin), left office in December 2014.
“ Mallam Lawal Mijinyawa, Executive Director (Operations) resigned his appointment in December.
“Consequently, Mr Olasogba Olugbenga, has been appointed the Acting Managing Director to oversee the company, while Michael Dogo and Nkiru Achara, were appointed as Executive Directors Operations, Finance and Admin respectively,’’ it stated.
It said the Chairman acknowledged efforts of the founding fathers who were pivotal to the plan of consummating the company and created a platform for which the company stood.
“Part of our strategy is that we are resuscitating the clientele base of these legacy companies to maximize the full potential of the company to take it to its next level.
“As a growing concern, Unity Kapital Assurance Plc will continue to focus on key growth sectors of the Nigerian economy, with our enhanced capital base to meet the needs of all stakeholders,’’ it quoted the Chairman
