BENIN CITY – The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Zone RS5, Benin, has confirmed one person dead and 18 others rescued in a multiple road accident that occurred on Friday at Ewu, near Irrua in Edo.
The FRSC Zonal Commander, Mr Charles Akpabio, who made the confirmation to journalists weekend in Benin, said the three vehicles involved were burnt.
“18 of the 19 passengers on board were injured, while one died on the spot.
“The vehicles involved were Toyota Hiace buses belonging to Benin based private transport companies
“The passengers were 14 male adults and five female adults” Akpabio said.
He attributed the possible cause of the accident to break failure in one of the buses.
