West Brom boss Tony Pulis has said the only thing missing for Brown Ideye is a goal after the forward again failed to score against Hull City Saturday.
The former Dynamo Kiev striker, who joined ‘The Baggies’ in the summer for a club record fee of £10m, missed several chances to score against Hull City on Saturday as West brom won 1-0 courtesy a Saido Berahino goal.
Pulis said: “He (Ideye) needs a break, and that break is sticking the ball in the back of the net. He looked sharp around the pitch, he caused the two centre-halves problems, he got up the sides three or four times today, but the kid needs a goal.”
A notable miss from the Nigeria star against Hull saw him fluff his shot when one-on-one with goalkeeper Alan Mc Gregory, and Pulis admits those are the kind of chances a player of Ideye’s calibre should be burying.
“You need to take those chances,” Pulis said. “When you get opportunities like that you have to take them. But Brown worked hard (vs Hull), he really worked the line well and Berahino played well with him.”
