Barely few months after the Nigeria Police prosecuted about 10 cases of gay/homosexual and consequently the sentenced of the victims to fourteen years in prison with hard labour, another news of homosexual again filtered into the air.
The recent involved a Sylvester Osagie who was said to have been caught severally making love with same-sex, an act viewed as taboo in the land as well as against the laws.
Sylvester’s uncle (name withheld ) who reported the matter at the Ugbekun Divisional Police Station, Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City on January 1, 2015 recalled some of the scenes where Sylvester was caught red-handed making love with his lover man, Samuel John, adding that frantic efforts have been made to dissuade him (Sylvester ) from continuing with the abominable act but to no avail, hence the decision to seek police intervention in view of arresting Sylvester and his lover man.
The police, it was gathered swiftly stormed the residence of Sylvester with a view to arresting the two love birds, but Sylvester was said to have been out of the house as at the time of the arrest, as luck ran out of John, Sylvester’s lover who was arrested by the police in connection with the homosexuality.
Information reaching our news desk has it that Sylvester upon hearing the arrest of his lover allegedly escaped to an unknown location and have not been seen as at the time of filing in this report, while his lover man who was given the worst ill-beaten of his life remain in prison custody for public prosecution.
A source in the police station who spoke with our reporter on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak with the press on the matter, said that the police have vowed to launch a search team for Sylvester, adding that anybody with useful information as his whereabouts should report at the nearest police station.
