Wesley Sneijder would cost Juventus +20 million should they want to buy him in the January transfer window, according to the Galatarasay midfielder’s agent.
The 30-year-old made the move to the Turk Telekom Arena in 2012-13’s mid-season transfer window, having fallen out with Inter, but in recent weeks the Netherlands international has been linked with a Galatasaray departure.
Juventus have been among the most prominent clubs mentioned in reports and head coach Massimiliano Allegri even commented that Sneijder would be a luxury, albeit hinting one that the Scudetto holders could not afford.
Sneijder’s agent, Guido Albers, stressed the former Ajax and Real Madrid star is not pushing for a transfer away from Turkey, but said that if Juve are serious with their interest then forking out +20m is a necessity.
“The Galatasaray board told me that they won’t sell Sneijder,” the agent told Bugun TV. “Wesley loves Galatasaray and the fans. Both he and his wife Yolanthe want to stay in Istanbul.
“If Juve are really interested in him then they’ll have to negotiate with the Galatasaray board, not with me.
“Also, any club who wants him will have to pay the +20m release clause in his contract. Not +5m, +10m or +12m.”
