BENIN CITY – The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prince Stephen Alao has assured the people of Iviegbepui in Etsako East Local Government Area of the plan to provide Perimeter Fence, toilet and other basic facilities at Egbepui Primary School, Iviegbepui.
Prince Alao made this promise during his visit to the school as part of the Board’s routine monitoring of schools to the locality.
The Chairman and his entourage inspected the School building in the community and was surprised to see that the school has been transformed by the present administration led by the Comrade Governor.
He said that this was contrary to the belief that children were learning under trees.
The Chairman stated that with the coming on board of the state Governor, virtually all the schools in Edo State have been transformed.
He however, assured the community of the Board quick intervention on the provision of other facilities, stressing that the projects will be completed this year as the Engineer had been directed to take the estimate in order to reflect in this year’s work plan.
The spokesman of the community, Mr. Anaedvbha Paul who was elated by the visit thanked the SUBEB boss for the quick response and the promise made by the Chairman.
He said the community was able to renovate some projects in the school in order to contribute their quota in uplifting the standard of education in the community.
He extolled the administrative style of SUBEB boss, and prayed for more strength and wisdom to fulfill his promise.
Present at the ceremony included; Malam Suleman Ali, Executive member, SUBEB Education Secretary, Etsako East Local Government Education Authority, Mr. Akhanamhe Imoudu and community leaders.
