LAGOS- Three notorious armed robbers have been arrested by the Policemen attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Ikeja, Lagos through tip-off from members of the public.
It was reliably gathered that on 9/2/2015 at about 2000hrs, Policemen SARS, Ikeja acted on information and arrested three armed robbers namely Manven Bali ‘m’ Chekwube Emeka ‘m’ and Ejike Chukwuemeka in their hideout at Ojudu and Ikorodu areas of Lagos State.
Two locally made double barrel pistols and 14 cartridges were recovered from the hoodlums who confessed to different robberies in Lagos and Ogun State, just as efforts are been made to arrest one Alhaji Nuhu alleged to be their criminal receiver. The case is under investigation at Special Anti-Robbery Squad Ikeja.
Similarly, on 11/2/2015 at about 2300hrs, Police patrol Team attached to Ketu Division while on stop and search duty at Mile 12 area, intercepted a Toyota Starlet S/Car with Reg. No. XA 989 REL with Lagos State Commercial Colour driven by one Kunle Owori ‘m’ of No.15, Anike Abu Street, Bariga with two occupants.
During the stop and search exercise, one of the occupants on sighting the Police jumped out of the vehicle and took to his heel, while the other named Abiola Shittu ‘m’ of no fixed address was arrested with cut to size locally made gun.
Effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspect. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba.
Meanwhile, on 12/2/2015 at about 2345hrs, Police Anti-Robbery Team attached to Adeniji Adele Division responded to a distress call at Isale Eko area of Lagos Island and arrested two suspected robbers namely Segun Gabriel ‘m’ and Quadri Oyeniran ‘m’ both of no fixed address with cutlasses.
Suspects with others at large allegedly attacked passersby with the intention to rob them. Effort is on to arrest other fleeing hoodlums. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba.
Also, on 12/2/2015 at about 1645hrs, Police Patrol team attached to Epe Division responded to distress call at Aiyetoro area of Epe and arrested one Kayode Sefiu ‘m’ of no fixed address with bullet wound on his leg while others escaped.
Suspect was taken to General Hospital for treatment while effort intensified to arrest the fleeing hoodlums. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba.
The Police Public Relations officer, Lagos command, DSP. Ken Nwosu who confirmed the reports revealed that all the suspects would be taken to court for prosecution after thorough interrogation.
