EKPOMA – The Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State has held its 2015 Interdenominational prayers and thanksgiving service, during which the new academic session was dedicated to God.
The service which had as its theme, “His Grace is Sufficient for Us”, featured thanksgiving/intercessory prayers for past academic sessions; successful and peaceful 2015 general election; as well as prayers for management, students and more development in the university.
The vice-chancellor, Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku said the programme was put together to commit the new session into God’s hands, because of the university’s believe in the efficacy of prayers.
She stated further that the service was also an opportunity for the university to seek God’s favor, grace and enablement to take decisions that are right in His sight.
She expressed gratitude to God for the success of the previous session, noting that God’s favor was evident in the manner the session ran smoothly.
In short exhortation, Rev. Dr. P. O. S. Uddin of the department of Vocational and Technical Education, described grace as a spiritual power that Jesus gives to those who receive Him as lord and personal savior.
Rev. Uddin assured the congregation that they would always be victors and not victims as long as they stick to God, adding that God’s grace is sufficient for them.
He added that God’s grace is all that is required for man to please God, pointing that the devil had made sin so sweet that only God’s grace could prevent people from it.
The preacher commended the university management for putting the programme together, and prayed God to equip them with the wisdom to pilot affairs of the institution.
