EKPOMA – The Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State has held
its 32nd matriculation ceremony, with the vice-chancellor, Prof.
Cordelia Agbebaku imploring the fresh students to sustain and
perpetuate the culture of excellence for with university is known.
The vice-chancellor said the university has the vision of
fostering growth of knowledge for advancement of the society, just as
its mission is to be a centre of excellence in teaching and research
among others.
She therefore implored the students to religiously follow the vision
and mission statements of the university by sustaining its ture of
excellence.
Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku cautioned them against joining secret cults,
saying is an avenue to self destruction.
She similarly advised them to shun examination malpractices; an act
she said was as evil as cultism.
The AAU chief executive expressed the institution’s abhorrence for
indecent dressing and encouraged the fresh students to embrace the
university’s dress code.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation
oath to the new students by the acting registrar of the university, Mr.
Folaremi Ojo-Maliki.
The students in the oath pledged to respect and obey the
vice-chancellor and other officers of the university, and also
promised to make restitution for any damage to the university
property.
