ATLETICO Madrid are reportedly in talks with Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla and are confident of securing his signature.
On Sunday, reports in Spain claimed that the reigning La Liga champions had agreed terms with the Arsenal star ahead of a move to the Vicente Calderon in the summer.
The reports were dismissed, with many pointing to the fact that Cazorla had arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season, but Sky Sports expert Guillem Balague revealed that talks between the two parties have indeed taken place.
Balague said: “He has 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal, and Atletico have contacted Cazorla’s entourage.
“Atletico are convinced that they can persuade the player to join them. Then they just have to pay the money.
“There will be one year left on his contract in the summer, and will be available for cheaper.”
