ABUJA – The FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, has ordered investigation into a shootout between personnel of the command and suspected criminals at Kubwa in the territory.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, ASP Anjuguri Manzah.
The statement said the incident occurred at Arab Road junction on Friday during a confrontation between the operatives and the suspects.
It was gathered that more than 100 persons had been arrested in connection with the incident.
“The confrontation which led to a shootout severely disorganised the criminal gang and inflicted bullet wounds on some of them,” it said.
It quoted the commissioner of police as assuring the people of the territory of adequate security and urged them to remain calm.
The statement said all would be done to create environment conducive for the people to go about their legitimate businesses.
