BENIN CITY – The Commissioner for Establishment and Special Duties, Comrade Didi Adodo has assured management and students of the Community Development Centre that the state government will look into the myriad of problems militating against the development of the institution.
Comrade Didi Adodo gave this assurance during his maiden visit to the centre, promising that his ministry will ensure that the school environment is made ideal for learning and teaching.
The Commissioner reiterated the desire of the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to redefine the state by ensuring that all decayed infrastructures are attended to.
He posited that the rebranding of primary and secondary schools in the state will in no distant time be extended to the Community Development Centre, saying that the centre will soon be a cynosure to behold.
Comrade Didi Adodo called on the management of the Centre to collaborate with the Ministry, Pointing unit that though the allocation from the federation account was dwindling, the state government will not abdicate its responsibilities to the citizenry.
Commissioner Didi Adodo also revealed the preparedness of the state government to provide enabling environment that will be conducive for the students to learn.
In his address, the Director of The Community Development Centre, Mr. Maxwell Okosun described the visit of Commissioner Adodo as symbolic, being the first Commissioner to visit the centre in this present dispensation.
Mr. Okosun said the Centre with about 186 students was established in 1981 by Prof. Ambrose Alli to train middle level manpower and is affiliated to the University of Benin. The Centre awards Diploma. He said students of the Centre are all over the globe pursing various courses in universities.
