ENUGU- The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has re-stated its determination to reduce road crashes in Nigeria by 20 per cent and fatality from road crashes by 30 per cent this year.
Corps Marshal Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, made the statement in Enugu on Tuesday when he visited Enugu state Chief Judge Justice Innocent Umezulike.
Oyeyemi, represented by the Corps Legal Adviser, Asst. Corps Marshal, Mr Wole Olaniran, appealed to the state judiciary to assist the FRSC in the prosecution of recalcitrant road traffic offenders.
Earlier in his welcome address, Umezulike promised that the state judiciary would collaborate with the FRSC to achieve its goal of ridding the highways of unscrupulous and reckless road users.
The Chief Judge cautioned FRSC personnel to respect the rights of citizens in the discharge of their duties especially in their enforcement drive.
