BENIN CITY – The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Erediauwa has said that whoever God has chosen as the president is the choice of the Benin.
The Benin Monarch who was represented by the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe made the disclosure while receiving President Goodluck Jonathan in his Palace during his campaign rally in Benin.
“God and our ancestors already know your (President Jonathan) aims; whoever God has chosen is our choice,” Oba Erediauwa said.
Oba however, said that he would have personally loved to receive President Jonathan, but welcomed him to Benin and wished him well.
Earlier, President Jonathan told the Benin monarch that he was in the palace to let him know about his arrival for the Presidential rally in Benin.
The president said he had visited the palace severally.
The president however, buttressed that he decided to visit the Palace before the event commenced.
