Harry Redknapp is already considering his next managerial job just hours after leaving Queens Park Rangers to have knee surgery.Harry Redknapp resigned as QPR manager on Tuesday, citing the need for surgery on his increasingly troublesome knees.
Redknapp reportedly called chairman Tony Fernandes at 5.30am to inform him of his decision.
The 67-year-old’s lack of mobility has been a growing problem Redknapp has felt unable to do his job properly, as he struggled to spend time on the training ground and could not even walk to and from grounds on scouting missions.

ISN’T THE TIMING A BIT, ER… UNFORTUNATE?
You mean, his decision to leave just six hours after QPR ended transfer deadline day empty-handed? Well, yes.
The timing immediately sparked speculation that Redknapp had stormed out after being denied his pick of transfer targets – most notably Emmanuel Adebayor, who QPR missed out on late on deadline day.
This was on the back of a pointed tweet from chairman Tony Fernandes on Monday insisting: “No more cheque book.”
Fernandes added: “Given the right motivation, tactics and coaching we can achieve much more.”
Redknapp insists it is a coincidence.
He’s 67 and he’s got dodgy knees, but it seems Harry is not yet ready to retire to Sandbanks.
In fact this morning’s Sun claims he is already planning his comeback – news that will hardly dampen claims there is more to this than a simple health issue.
“I haven’t got the hump, we haven’t had a row. I knew some while ago that we were not going to be able to get much done in January.”
‘I’m struggling so badly now. I can’t walk, I can barely stand and watch. I’m in pain all the time. I’ve been putting it off, and putting it off, but it has got to the stage where I cannot do the job… I went to bed thinking I would sleep on it, but then I couldn’t sleep a wink. That’s when I decided to call Tony. It must have been 5.30am. I just told him he needed someone who could properly coach and manage the team in the next ten weeks. It’s such an important time. They need someone who can give it everything.”
“I’ll be back. Maybe next season… It all depends on which jobs are available.”
