Abuja – The Police have arraigned a sales girl, Ronke Amojo, 25, at the Gudu Upper Area Court in the FCT for allegedly converting her employer’s N250, 000 to her personal use.
The accused, residing at Kabusa Village, Apo, Abuja is standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Shedrack Dauda, told the court that one Uchenna Onyegembe of Plot 1085, Anon plaza, Gudu District, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on Jan. 30.
He said that on the said date, the complainant entrusted the accused person, being his sales-girl, with the sum of N270, 000 to deposit in the Eco Bank account of the complainant.
“Instead, the accused person converted the said money to her personal use and claimed to have been duped by “419 men.”
Dauda said further that the offences contravened Sections 314 and 322 of the Penal Code.
Amojo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N280, 000 with a surety who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case to March 23 for hearing
