BENIN CITY – Shop owners, numbering over 1,000 in Oredo Local Government Area, Ward 3 have pledged their support for All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates for the Federal, National and State Assembly in the forthcoming general elections.
The candidates are General Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidates, Hon. Uyi Igbe, Oredo Federal constituency as well as Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha for Edo State House of Assembly.
The Business owners expressed their position at a forum conveyed in Erhumwunse Street, Benin city, Ward 3 of the Local Government Area by an APC Leader and members, Edo State Committee on Environment, Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa Asuen.
The shop owners said their decision was arrived at after they were impressed by the developmental strides of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.
They said they were left with no better option as to support the party’s candidates whom they urged to operate open door policy in order to be accessible by the electorates.
An interest group, known as Delta Democratic supporters Movement, with members spread across the state said they would sustain their support for APC candidates, having started their support tight from the days of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
A representative of the Odionwere as well as landlords and landladies of the community, Mr. J. Uhunmwangho said they would do all that is required of them, but however urged the candidates to find lasting solution to the erosion problem of Erhummwunse community.
The candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency and current speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Uyi Igbe in his remarks, while promising to give the electorates greater sense of belonging, also promised to give priority attention to their welfare.
