BENIN CITY – The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prince Stephen Alao has described the recent teachers’ recruitment exercise carried out in Edo State as transparent and commendable.
The SUBEB boss in a statement in Benin City yesterday, expressed appreciation to Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his exemplary disinterestedness in providing a level playing field for the committee and the candidates to achieve the purpose of the exercise.
While commending the Chairman and members of the Committee on State Recruitment Exercise, Prince Alao stated that the board was not surprised by the committee’s commendable performance in the selection of qualified teachers to further enhance the standard of education in Edo State.
The statement further added that it has come to the knowledge of SUBEB that some unscrupulous persons are collecting money purportedly on behalf of the board to be given employment in respect of the just concluded recruitment exercise.
While disassociating itself from the untoward and dishonourable act, the board warned that whoever engages in such illegal transactions does so at his or her own risk/loss.
It also reminded all applicants that such practices negate the policies and practices of the present state government and the spirit of the new SUBEB.
