A former member of the All Progressive Party (APC) ,Ademola Akadri in Osun state ,now in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has reportedly gone into hiding to escape the wrath of suspected thugs loyal to his former party.
The PDP politician who is actively involved in Osun politics plays his politics in ward 4 in Osogbo local government area of Osun state.
Ademola Akadri ,it was learnt decamped to the PDP before the 2015 general elections and was made one of the active members supporting the activities of the party financially.
The Nigerian Observer reliably gathered that , in the build up to the 2015 general elections , Ademola Akadri suddenly became the target of the opposition as members of his former party were not too comfortable with his financial clout in the PDP.
It was said that he was allegedly attacked in January 2015 by unknown gunmen in the service of his former party which investigation by the police into the attack revealed that his life was under serious security threat .
In the same manner in February 2015 ,his car was again attacked by thugs referred to as ” state boys ” while his wife and children were on their way from church but unknown to them he was not in the car during the attack.
The Nigerian Observer however learnt that threat to the life of the Ademola Akadri suddenly gathered momentum immediately after the 2015 general elections when PDP went to court to challenge all the results into the federal and state legislative parliaments including those at the local government level which his former party recorded landslide victory.
According to information made available to the Nigerian Observer ,he was perceived as the enemy of his former party because of his financial strength in providing adequate funding in pursuing litigations at the elections petition tribunal.
To send a strong message of intent,his cars ,properties and residential building was razed down by arsonists yet to be identified and arrested while he was away with his family.
Meanwhile, the message of threat to the life of the PDP member and his immediate family members ,according to investigation by the police,has dangerously assumed a different twist following the series of attacks and the case of arson .
The police further said that intelligence report gathered further revealed that the thugs were combing every parts of the state capital and beyond to ensure they get him dead or alive.
Recent findings and investigation by the Nigerian Observer indicated that Ademola Akadri and his family members have relocated to an unknown destination as there are no clear indications the police could guarantee his protection and safety .
Meanwhile, the police are yet to arrest members of the suspected APC thugs involved in the case till date.
