LAGOS- The police has arraigned a 40-year-old salesman, David Akpan, in an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, charged with stealing N250,000 from his employer.
Akpan, who resides in the Iponri area of Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of theft.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clement Okuoimose, told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in February 2014 at No. 7, Funsho Williams Avenue, Iponri, Lagos.
Okuoimose said that Akpan stole N250,000 from his employer, Chief Adeshina Asesanya.

The section provides that if the item stolen is the property of his employer, the person is liable to imprisonment of not less that seven years.

Olatunji ordered that the surety must be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment.
The magistrate directed the complainant to ensure his presence in court at the next adjourned date, otherwise the matter would be struck out as he adjourned the case until March 13.
