Tottenham have won the race to sign wonderkid Dele Alli from MK Dons.
Spurs have snatched the 18-year-old midfielder from under the noses of Newcastle and Aston Villa for a fee in the region of +6.6 million.
Alli is expected to return to MK Dons on loan for the rest of the season as part of the agreement, which will be completed before the transfer deadline on Monday.
The teenager made the decision to join Spurs after the Londoners made their move late in the window.
Alli is an England under-19 international and has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs with his performances in League One this season.
Tottenham are not expecting a busy final day of the January window although manager Mauricio Pochettino would like to trim his squad by allowing some players to leave, either on loan or in permanent deals.
Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is the subject of interest from a number of clubs including Stoke and QPR but has so far refused to leave White Hart Lane even on loan until the end of the season.
Aaron Lennon is desperate to complete a switch to Hull but the clubs are still negotiating over terms to make the deal for the winger permanent in the summer.
