BENIN CITY – The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy  Affairs, Edo State, Chief Lucky James has reiterated the non-partisan posture of traditional rulers in the state.
Chief James who spoke in Benin City when he met with traditional rulers and clan heads in Edo-North and Edo Central  Senatorial District, advised against political patronage that may make them alter their posture in politics.
He also enjoined them to provide quality leadership in their respective domain, irrespective of how they assume their positions.
While urging them to foster good relationship with government, their subjects and other relevant authorities, the commissioner said that the process that brought them into office should not be compromised to the determinant of the people and the society at larger.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers the clan head of Okoloso Community, in Akoko Edo Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Daniel Suru Lawani pledge their loyalty to the state government, while appreciating its developmental strides.
