Benin City:- Another cult war between two rival cult groups, Eiye and Aye confraternity has claimed two lives, leaving others seriously injured.
This recent clashes between the two rival cult groups may not be unconnected to the rape of one Joy Roland by some boys suspected to be members of the Eiye Confraternity. The incident which happens last year December 12, 2014, was allegedly lead by one Osazee, a member of the Eiye Confraternity.
Investigation revealed that the rape victim is a fiance to a member of the other cult group, Aye Confraternity, Osaro Edigin.
Joy, who sustained serious injuries and also lost her three months pregnancy, was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where she spent two weeks.
It was also revealed that while Joy was still in the hospital, her fiance, Osaro Edigin, mobilized some of his cult members and attacked Osazee and his friends in their hide out and in the process, killed one of their member, leaving others with various degrees of injury. This resulted in a reprisal attack by the Eiye group on February 24th, who stormed the house of Osaro Edigin, butchered him beyond recognition and destroyed many properties.
In another attack, the Edigin family have carried the war back to Roland Joy family, claiming that their daughter Joy connived with the cult boys to kill their son Osaro.
The Eiye cult members stormed the hospital where Joy was receiving treatment in a bid to finish her, but she was lucky to have escaped.
When contacted, the Police PROs confirmed the incident and assured the public that those involved in the murder of these persons will be hunted down, including Miss Joy Roland who is at the center of the crisis. Miss Joy is currently on the run from both Osaros family and the Eiye cult members.
