AUCHI – Barrister Francis Alimikhena of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the Edo North Senatorial District election after polling a total of 86.021 out of the 183,149 vote cast in Saturday’s election.
The returning officer for the election, Professor Solomon Esharegoma Omonigho who announced the result said that Barrister Pascal Ugbome of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 66,062 votes while Abubakar Momoh of SDP polled 23,650 votes. The total number  of void vote was 6,821.
Meanwhile, Peter Akpatason of the APC has won the election for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency seat for another term.
Akpatason polled 29,006 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Bankole Balogun of the PDP with 16,680 votes and Akiola Agbaje of SDP.  The results were announced by the INEC Returning Officer for the election, Mr. Momoh Ibrahim.
