Lagos- The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) says it has commenced the construction of drain to tackle flooding of the road shoulder on Lagos- Abeokuta expressway.
Mr Kehinde Afolabi, the agency’s engineer representing Lagos West, stated this in an interview with newsmen  in Lagos.
“We are constructing a drain there; it is at NURTW (axis) that we are constructing a drain.
“Ilepo drain is still intact, what we are doing there is desilting, which was what we carried out when we went there.
“We have carried out massive desilting, that was why we were able to fix back the road.
“It is on the other side that is NURTW, we are constructing drain there and fixing the road.
“If you notice that place, it is a major problem, (the) contractor has resumed.’’
Afolabi said that the drain would be constructed to empty into a major canal around Pleasure Bus Stop area.
