AMAJU Pinnick, the Chairman, Nigeria Football Federation (NFA), on Wednesday urged football referee assessors to ensure better officiating as the new football league season draws close.
Pinnick said this at the day-two of the second national seminar organised by the NFA for the referee assessors at the National Stadium, Abuja.
He said the current leadership of the NFF was interested in the development of the various leagues in the country with the referees as the major determining factor.
“We have always maintained that referee is the cardinal element in rebuilding, re-branding or redefining football development.
“It is on that basis that we have to send some referees to England for quality training; we have done 30 referees.
“The good news coming from there is that from these 30 referees, we had one officiated in the Nations cup, first time in over a decade.
