BENIN CITY- Ahead of the forthcoming presidential elections slated to hold on Saturday 28th March 2015, a Chieftain of the All progressives Congress in Egor Local Government Area and the Executive Director in charge of Education in Edo State, Comrade Derick Uhunmwagho, has charged the agents of APC and electorate across the state on the need to monitor their votes in their respective polling units in order to prevent rigging tendencies of the opposition party, PDP.
Comrade Uhunmwagho disclosed this to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER, yesterday, at his office in Benin City, while unveiling his preparation for the election.
He stressed that the long awaited date for the election has come and that to maintain high degree of accountability and transparency in governance, there was need for both the party agents of APC and the electorates to closely monitor their votes after casting to avoid being rigged by the PDP.
According to him, if we must achieve our party manifestoes in this election, apart from coming out enmasse to cast our votes, we should also monitor it to defend it till the counting of the votes or else, the opposition will take advantage to overrun the election process and advised them to be careful to achieve the desired results for the all candidates of APC for the purposes of continuity in government.
The Executive Director therefore urged the electorates to disregard the order of the Inspector General of Police as he lacked merit as far as elections are concerned.
