BENIN CITY- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, the Edaiken N’ Uselu has congratulated the President-Elect, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) on his victory at the March 28 presidential election, even as the Igiohen Association of Benin Kingdom urged the electorate to turn out enmasse for Saturday’s House of Assembly election and vote for their choice candidate.
The association in a statement endorsed by its chairman, Chief Ediagbonya, the Ohen-Igie N’ Ogbeson noted that though members are unapoliticals, but would “not want the entire Edo State to be left behind in the scheme of things”.
According to the association”, we are interested in the development of the entire state and we believe in the mass mobilisations of all to support our clarion call to actualize the development of Edo State”.
In a statement in Benin City, Crown Prince Erediauwa said Buhari’s election was a manifestation of the wishes of the Nigerian people to elect a leader of their choice, irrespective of political parties that contested the election.
The Highness, said he has no doubt that Buhari would use his new exalted office as in-coming president, with his vice, Professor Yemi Osibanjo (SAN) to bring about the desired peace development and change, not only to Nigerians but to the nation in general.
He urged Buhari to remain steadfast in his dealings with issues of National Development always, especially now that the needed change that Nigerians craved for has come.
While commending the Chairman of the Independent National electoral Commission (INEC),Professor Atahiru Jega for leaving up to expectation in the task of conducting a peaceful and credible election, the monarch also congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship in accepting the decision of Nigerians in good faith.
