BENIN CITY- The victory of General Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential election continues to receive commendation, the lyase of Benin, Chief Sam Igbe, the Isekhure of Benin Chief Nosakhare Isekhure and APC Chieftains including former minister of state for works, Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi have called on Edo people to vote for APC Candidates in next Saturday, Edo state House of Assembly election to avoid the situation of Edo State being in opposition.
They made the appeal to the electorate at a press conference organised by Ogiemwonyi Political Organisation at the NUJ Press Centre in Benin city.
In an address, the lyase of Benin, Chief Sam Igbe said it is important to advise Edo people to come out enmasse to vote for all APC candidates in next Saturday’s Edo State House of Assembly election to avoid being in opposition to APC government at the federal level.
In a remark, the lsekhure of Benin, Chief Nosakhare lsekhure said he is a founding member of APC in Edo State.
He passionately appealed to Edo people to avoid being in opposition to the Federal Government by massively voting for All APC candidates on Saturday, adding that the House of Assembly election is very important, hence they should vote APC House of Assembly candidates.
On his part, facilitator of the event and a former Minister of State for Works, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi said the Yoruba nation knows the pain of being in opposition, hence their decision to vote for the APC at the federal level.
He said Edo State can enjoy the dividends of democracy from the federal level if Edo State is fully APC State by winning massively, seats at the Edo State House of Assembly.
Speakers after speakers, including Col. Paul Ogbebor rtd, Prof. Dennis Agbonlahor and Bishop Erasmus Ofeghe gave credence to the importance of Edo State avoiding the situation of being in opposition to APC government at the federal level.
They encouraged the electorate to avoid money politics and support Governor Adams Oshiomhole and APC National Chairman, Chief Odigie Oyegun by voting for APC candidates in next Saturday’s election.
There was Cultural display by different ethnic and interest groups who attended the press conference with the topic, Edo State in Alignment with Federal Government, organized by Ogiemwonyi Political Organisation at the NUJ Press Centre in Benin City.
