BENIN CITY – The immediate past commissioner representing Orhionmwon on the board of Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, (EDSOGPADEC), and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Fidelis Okunzuwa, has tasked the newly elected lawmakers to the national assembly and state House of Assembly on good governance to the people rather than pursuing a cause of personal interest.
Hon. Okunzuwa gave the charge in Benin City, weekend, while reviewing the 2015 election processes that precipitated the emergence of candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC), winners in the just concluded general elections held across the country recently.
He maintained that leadership was by example and that they (lawmakers) should as a matter of urgent importance demonstrate patriotism to the people by making meaningful impact on the legislating process that would better the lives of the people in order to restore the lost confidence in them, saying that integrity supersedes riches.
Okunzuwa, however, solicited the collective responsibility of the lawmakers-elect to effect positive change, especially to replicate and sustain the developmental strides of this present administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led-government in the state, a legacy which the APC is regarded for.
He stressed that the victories recorded in the elections by APC, were the manifestations of the quest by the people for change in government, which he described as divine.
He urged Nigerians to support the government of APC at all level to take Nigeria to the next level of developments.
